Our women's health services

LewisGale Hospital Montgomery understands that women have unique health concerns and needs. That is why we offer a range of health services for women of all ages. We prioritize listening to our patients' concerns to create a personalized care plan that meets your needs.

Our women's care services include:

Breast health

We know the importance of early detection when it comes to breast health. Regular breast exams are the best way to catch abnormalities early. We offer breast screenings and diagnostic imaging, including ultrasounds and mammograms.

Cancer care program

As part of our cancer care program, we offer diagnostic screenings and treat cancers that affect women, including breast and gynecologic cancers. Our outpatient facility provides a caring and support staff who offer chemotherapy treatments. If surgical intervention is needed, our skilled surgical oncologists are able to remove tumors and cancerous tissue.

Emotional wellness

We believe your mental and emotional health is just as important as your physical health. As part of HCA Virginia, we give you direct access to comprehensive inpatient and outpatient behavioral health support for patients of all ages. We help patients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, addiction issues, memory impairment and trauma.

Gynecology

Our multidisciplinary gynecology team includes physicians, nurse midwives, surgeons, gynecologic oncologists, anesthesiologists and urogynecologists. Within our gynecology program, you can schedule your annual well-woman visit and also receive diagnosis and treatment for more complex conditions such as gynecologic cancers, pelvic floor issues and incontinence.

Infertility

We understand how difficult it can be to struggle to conceive. Our physicians aim to provide compassionate, personalized fertility treatment that considers the unique needs of you and your family.

Minimally invasive surgery

Our hospital provides laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures for conditions such as gynecologic cancers, pelvic prolapse, uterine fibroids and bladder support. Minimally invasive procedures can offer many benefits compared to traditional surgery, including faster recovery times, less pain and minimal scarring.

Labor and delivery

Our birthing center offers comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care as well as personalized labor and delivery care. Our birthing suites are designed to facilitate bonding and maximize comfort for mom, baby and family. Our maternity team offers support through birth planning and prenatal classes and expertise in high-risk pregnancies and breastfeeding.

If needed, our maternity center provides direct access to our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our neonatologists provide special care to infants with minor health issues and babies born between 32 and 35 weeks of gestation.

Heart disease in women

Women often have unique symptoms during a cardiac event, such as jaw pain, pain in the lower abdomen, extreme fatigue and dizziness. If heart attack symptoms arise, you can trust our hospital to deliver fast, effective care. We are an Accredited Chest Pain Center, designated by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) for our superior cardiovascular services.

Our emergency services are prepared to quickly diagnose and treat your cardiac event. We perform percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), such as angioplasty and stents, to quickly open blocked arteries and minimize damage. After cardiac events occur, our cardiac rehabilitation program guides you through recovery and helps you maintain good heart health.

Bone density screening

If you have concerns about your bone health or risk for fractures, we offer noninvasive bone density screening as part of our diagnostic imaging services. Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans are screenings involving very low doses of radiation to assess bone density and risk of osteoporosis and bone fractures.
