Cancer treatments we provide
We are proud to be able to offer advanced treatment options for many different kinds of cancer. Our goal is to create a plan suited to your specific needs in order to provide the best possible results.
Types of cancer treatment we offer
Our cancer treatment specialists offer both surgical oncology and outpatient chemotherapy as options to address cancers that can affect the reproductive system, the breasts and the colon.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is a type of treatment that uses cancer-fighting drugs to either kill cancerous cells or slow their growth. These drugs are typically infused into the body via a port. Chemotherapy is usually an outpatient treatment, and how often you will receive the infusion depends on your specific care plan, and the diagnosis you have received.
Surgical oncology
Though surgery can be intimidating, our cancer surgeons are highly trained in delicately removing affected tissue in order to treat specific types of cancer. If you and your care team decide that surgery is the best option for you, we will be by your side throughout the entire process.
Wherever possible, our team uses minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgical methods in order to be as precise as possible while also reducing your recovery time and post-surgery discomfort.
Diagnostic imaging and laboratory testing
As a part of our oncological services, we also have access to the latest diagnostic imaging tools to locate cancerous cells and tumors and create an effective treatment plan. Our diagnostic services include mammograms, ultrasounds and computerized tomography (CT) scans.
We also offer inpatient and outpatient laboratory testing, such as blood tests and biopsies, as well as genetic screenings for hereditary cancers.
Specialized care from the HCA family
Should you require further cancer care or treatments unavailable at our hospital, we are proud to provide additional cancer services through our HCA Virginia Health System network of care.
