Surgical oncology
Depending on your condition, surgery may be a key component of your cancer treatment plan to remove a tumor, provide targeted radiation therapy or act as a reconstructive tool. Our cancer care program includes experienced surgical oncologists who will be with you every step of the way.
Robot-assisted surgery
Commonly referred to as minimally invasive surgery, robot-assisted surgery combines robotic equipment with a live surgeon, allowing them to make tiny incisions with smaller instruments to perform a wider variety of procedures. With the help of a high-definition 3D camera, your surgeon can view the magnified image of the surgical site, while controlling the robotic equipment.
This robotic arm technology translates the surgeon's hand movements into precise micro-movements, ensuring that the robotic arm never makes a move on its own — the surgeon is always 100 percent in control. As a result of minimally invasive surgery, you will experience less pain, less scarring, reduced blood loss, fewer postoperative complications and a faster recovery.
Minimally invasive surgeries we perform
Minimally invasive robotic surgery is an effective treatment option for a wide range of conditions and illnesses. Our surgeons perform many procedures this technology, including:
- Anti-reflux surgeries for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Cancer surgeries
- Cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery)
- Colon procedures
- Hernia repair
- Hysterectomy (uterus removal)
- Knee replacement surgery
- Lung and thoracic surgeries
- Spine surgery
Our surgeons have undergone specialized and intensive training to use the specific robot required for your procedure, and are supported by a team of anesthesiologists, nurses and surgical techs that have been trained to support their needs.6
