LewisGale Medical Center's inpatient rehabilitation facility among the top 10 percent in the country
The hospital was lauded for delivering effective, efficient, timely, patient-centered care.
LewisGale Medical Center has been ranked in the top 10 percent of inpatient rehabilitation facilities nationwide for delivering effective, efficient, timely, patient-centered care.
Netsmart Technologies, Inc., determined the rankings. The company’s program evaluation model provides facilities with a composite performance score and percentile ranking drawn from more than 80 percent of all inpatient rehabilitation facilities nationwide.
"We are honored to be recognized by Netsmart for our steadfast commitment to our patients," said Collin McLaughlin, CEO of LewisGale Medical Center. "Providing exceptional patient care is our highest priority and this acknowledgment reflects our dedication and compassion."
Netsmart’s report card is based on data from 886 qualifying inpatient rehabilitation facilities nationwide between October 2023 and September 2024. To determine the score, Netsmart used the indicators of efficiency and effectiveness contained in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument, a reporting tool for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Prospective Payment System and Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Quality Reporting Program.
“LewisGale Medical Center has demonstrated their commitment to providing efficient and exceptional patient care, and we are delighted to present them with this esteemed award,” said Stephanie Stockton, senior data analyst in Netsmart’s analytical services group. “The program evaluation model (PEM) Report Card was created to identify and recognize top-performing facilities, and it plays a pivotal role today in elevating performance standards across the nation.”
This is the 17th year the award has been issued to inpatient rehabilitation facilities. The data was based on twelve months of data drawn from Medicare and non-Medicare patients. The results were weighted and combined into a single composite score.
