Heart screening and imaging

Nonsurgical treatment options
We prefer to take a noninvasive and conservative approach wherever possible. We are pleased to offer an innovative outpatient treatment called enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) therapy to treat symptoms caused by chronic angina, heart failure and coronary artery disease. Cardiologists use EECP therapy to inflate and deflate cuffs around the legs to help improve blood and oxygen flow to the heart.

If your heart condition requires more complex care, we offer real-time digital consultations with the Levinson Heart Institute at Chippenham Hospital, our sister facility. If needed, we can also immediately transfer patients to Chippenham Hospital's Level I Trauma Center, which is one of two centers in central Virginia.

Keep your eye out for these heart attack warning signs:
- Chest heaviness
- Chest or throat tightness
- Fluttering in your chest
- Arrhythmia (irregular heartbeats)
- Left arm or shoulder pain
- Pain between your shoulder blades
- Pain in your left jaw
