Cardiac imaging and testing

A thorough, accurate diagnosis is essential to crafting an effective treatment plan. To identify cardiac conditions, we use various tests including:

  • Echocardiogram (ECHO) — uses ultrasound to create moving pictures that examine heart muscle function in order to determine the effectiveness of previous surgical procedures or diagnose heart disease and heart valve complications
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) — uses electrode patches to measure, heart rhythm, blood flow, high electrolyte abnormalities or to determine whether you are having a heart attack
  • Holter monitoring — portable electrocardiogram that uses electrodes attached to the chest to continuously record the heart's electrical activity for a period of 24 hours or longer
