TriCities Hospital welcomes new chief medical officer

TriCities Hospital, part of the HCA Virginia Health System, is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Prakasam Kalluri as the new Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

Dr. Kalluri is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a specialization in spine care. With extensive experience and a deep commitment to improving patient care and clinical excellence, he is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the hospital's healthcare services.

In his capacity as CMO, Dr. Kalluri will oversee clinical operations, spearhead quality improvement initiatives and cultivate a collaborative environment among physicians and healthcare providers.

Dr. Kalluri graduated from Temple University and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Rutgers University. He further honed his skills with a fellowship in spine surgery at Rush University in Chicago. With 20 years in the orthopedic field, Dr. Kalluri has built a reputation for clinical leadership and innovative approaches to spine health.

As a recognized expert by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he specializes in various spinal procedures, including corrective deformities, treatment of fractures and management of complex spinal tumors. He is dedicated to ensuring that his patients recover swiftly and with minimal discomfort from cervical, thoracic, and lumbar degenerative conditions.

In collaboration with hospital leadership, Dr. Kalluri will focus on enhancing TriCities Hospital’s orthopedic and spine care initiatives, as well as other medical services.
