Hyperbaric oxygen treatment

Retreat Doctors’ Hospital was the first in central Virginia to offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), an advanced wound treatment option. HBOT is typically administered in an outpatient setting and involves breathing pure oxygen in a sealed, pressurized chamber.

Breathing the pure oxygen increases the amount of oxygen in your blood. This process promotes healing by enhancing the white blood cells' ability to fight infection and stimulating the growth of new blood vessels.
