Breast health services we offer

Taking the initiative in your personal breast care can not only help detect disease but can also put your mind at ease. We help you schedule breast cancer screenings or imaging services with ease.

Our breast imaging services

We offer patient-focused diagnostics centered on the early detection of breast cancer and other abnormalities. Our breast care services include:

  • Breast ultrasound — Sound waves capture images of the breast's internal structures
  • Breast MRI — Radio waves and strong magnets detect cancer and other breast abnormalities that may not be seen on other tests
  • Mammogram — A low-dose X-ray of your breasts that can show changes in breast tissue
  • 3D mammograms — X-rays taken from multiple angles to create a 3D model of the breast, which makes fine details within breast tissue more visible
  • Stereotactic breast biopsy — X-ray technology that guides the biopsy needle to the suspicious area, where a tissue sample is taken for analysis

Breast cancer screening guidelines

Our partner in cancer care, the Sarah Cannon Institute, offers advice on when to start getting annual mammograms:

  • If you have an average risk of breast cancer, begin annual mammograms at 40 years old
  • If you have a high risk of breast cancer, you may need to start as early as 25 years old

Preparing for your mammogram

Regular mammograms are an essential part of your overall breast health. We aim to make you feel comfortable and prepared every step of the way.

Preparing for your mammogram

Here are some tips to help you prepare for your mammogram:

  • Bring with you the results of any previous mammogram or breast ultrasound
  • Do not apply deodorant, talcum powder or lotion under your arms or near your breasts
  • Schedule your mammogram after your menstrual cycle, when your breasts are less tender
  • Wear a two-piece outfit to your appointment and leave jewelry at home
