Richmond, Virginia – HCA Virginia has appointed Ann Winn, R.N., as the new chief nursing officer of Chippenham Hospital. She replaces Sandy Aderholt, R.N. (Registered Nurse), who recently retired.
Winn comes to Chippenham Hospital from HCA Healthcare's Methodist Stone Oak Hospital in San Antonio, where she served as CNO since 2014.
In her previous role she was dedicated to improving nursing engagement and decreasing the nursing turnover rate from 26 percent to 15 percent. Winn was also instrumental in advancing the quality agenda. Under her leadership, Methodist Stone Oak earned an "A" grade from the Leapfrog Group, CMS Five-Star Quality Rating, Healthgrades' "Patient Safety Excellence Award(tm)", and top 100 for Modern Healthcare's "Best Places to Work™."
"Ann is a consummate nursing executive whose breadth of experience and wealth of knowledge will further elevate our quality of care," said William Lunn, M.D., chief executive officer of Chippenham & Johnston-Willis Hospitals. "I am confident that her proven leadership will be a significant asset for our outstanding nursing team."
Prior to her time at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, Ann served two other facilities in the Methodist Healthcare System. From 2006 to 2008, she was vice president of Women's Services at Methodist Children's Hospital. She was promoted to chief nursing officer at the facility in 2008.
Winn begins her new role this week.
