What is interventional radiology?
Using computed tomography (CT) scans, X-rays and other diagnostic imaging methods, your interventional radiologist guides instruments through the blood vessels of the body with needles and narrow tubes called catheters.
This type of procedure avoids the need for the large incisions used in traditional surgery. Because interventional procedures are minimally invasive, patients benefit from less pain and a shorter recover after procedures.
