Internship in Operating Room Nursing
With at least one year of hospital experience as an RN and a desire to broaden your career, you can apply for the HCA Virginia Internship in Operating Room Nursing. This six- to nine-month program combines classroom experiences with rotations among HCA Virginia hospitals.
Learn how to be an OR nurse and develop confidence and competence through the perioperative internship. Features of this internship include:
- AORN Periop 101 Curriculum didactic, which provides exceptional evidence-based perioperative education, allowing you to apply critical-thinking skills and theory-based practice to the safe and competent care of the surgical patient.
- Clinical practicum in the operating room, which allows for real-time experience in multiple service lines while being coached by experienced surgical staff in both the scrub and circulator roles.
- A six-month program facilitated by an experienced perioperative educator using simulation, lecture and hands-on experience to master skill-based competencies for the novice perioperative nurse.
Emergency Nursing Internship
If you hold at least one year of acute-care experience, you can apply for an Emergency Nursing Internship, an intensive opportunity for RNs who want to work in the challenging field of emergency nursing. This 16-week program includes instruction and clinical orientation on core emergency topics, trauma, emergency pediatrics, crisis intervention and disaster preparedness.
