Deborah Deperio
StoneSprings Hospital ICU nurse recognized for making a difference.
Deborah Deperio has been a nurse in StoneSprings Hospital’s ICU for two years, and is making a difference in patient’s lives. She is the hospital’s most recent Daisy Award winner, which is a merit-based award honoring not only clinical skills, but also strong patient care and compassion.
She was nominated by a grateful family member who said: "Deb treated us as if we were guests in her home and not strangers. She provided for his spirit as well as his physical well-being."
Deborah finished nursing school in 2021 at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and she chose to work in the ICU because she wanted to provide care and support to patients and families who needed it the most. “I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and learn as much nursing knowledge and skills as possible,” she said. “I love working at StoneSprings Hospital. I feel supported, and I have the best team.” She went on to say she is learning every day and is being given every opportunity to grow in her nursing career.
