Dulles, VA  StoneSprings Hospital Center recently hosted a Robotic Take-Over event, welcoming members of the community to take a closer look at the hospital’s robotic surgery systems and talk with the area’s leading robotic surgeons.

The event not only featured StoneSprings Hospital’s high-tech surgical tools and systems, but also included innovative student-built robots from the Academies of Loudoun, Eagle Ridge Middle School and St. Paul VI Catholic High School.

“This event was a celebration of our robotic surgery capabilities – the medical teams and the technology. We also enjoyed showcasing the unique student-built robotics from students right here in our community,” said Tammy Razmic, CEO of StoneSprings Hospital Center.  “It’s was great to see so many residents and their families get an up-close view of this advanced technology and talk to surgeons and staff who use it every day.”

Attendees were able to talk to hospital surgeons about the robotic equipment, look through surgical microscopes and watch several demonstrations using a surgical robot. Students also demonstrated their hand-made robots using interactive displays and digital components.

StoneSprings Hospital Center’s robotic systems include two da Vinci XI Surgical Systems, one Cori and one Mako Surgical System used by surgeons for colorectal, esophageal, general surgery, gynecology and urology procedures.
