Dedicated Spine and Orthopedic Center opens at Reston Hospital Center
No. 1 ranked hospital in the state for surgical care opens spine and orthopedic unit to promote best care experience.
Reston, Va. — Reston Hospital announces the opening of a new Spine and Orthopedic Center. HCA Virginia is constantly developing approaches to better meet the needs of the community, and there are now 33 rooms dedicated to high-quality surgical care for spine and orthopedic patients.
“Our goal is to continually align our clinical and care support resources to provide the highest level of surgical care that patients and providers have come to expect at Reston Hospital Center,” said Laura-Anne Cleveland, chief nursing officer at Reston Hospital Center.
In this sub-unit, patients will experience personalized care from the care team, as well as a room design and menu more aligned to their specific post-surgery needs. The spine and orthopedic navigators, as well as the rehabilitation and physical therapy teams, will continue the multi-disciplinary, collaborative approach with providers and patients during their pre- and post-surgery experience.
“With the spine and orthopedic patients placed in a dedicated space, not only will their needs be more specifically met, but so will those of the surgical patients who will remain on our general surgery unit, “said Becki Lawhorne, associate chief nursing officer at Reston Hospital Center. “Aligning these two units allows our care teams to focus on providing the best care experience for each and every patient.”
Earlier this year, Reston Hospital Center was recognized as the No. 1 hospital in the state of Virginia for surgical care and No. 2 in the state for both joint replacement and orthopedic surgery by Healthgrades. Reston Hospital was also named in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for patient safety.
