Dulles, VA – StoneSprings Hospital Center announced today that it is the recipient of the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for 2019. This award is granted annually to facilities with performance in the top 5 percent for patient experience or clinical quality. StoneSprings is being recognized specifically for its Patient Experience in the Emergency Department.
The Guardian of Excellence Award highlights the outstanding work of hospitals who strive to improve the patient experience and raise the bar on performance each year. Press Ganey awards commend efforts to improve the quality and safety of patient care, provide a positive and collaborative environment for employees and physicians, and ultimately deliver exceptional patient experiences. StoneSprings’ award is based on patient surveys that’s asked about specific areas of care and service, like registration or initial assessment of symptoms, likelihood to recommend, and an overall rating, from May of 2018 through April of 2019.
“The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes and celebrates excellence in our Emergency Department care and acknowledges that it takes a team, from triage through the entire course of care, to achieve these results,” said Matt Mathias, CEO of StoneSprings Hospital Center.
For more than 30 years, Press Ganey’s mission has been to support health care providers in understanding and improving the entire patient experience. As a strategic business partner to more than 26,000 health care organizations, including StoneSprings Hospital Center, they lead the industry in helping transform the patient experience and create continuous, sustainable improvement.
