Fredericksburg, Va.HCA Virginia has announced that Nathan Irwin will serve as chief operating officer for Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Nathan to the Spotsy Family,” said David McKnight, chief executive officer at Spotsylvania Regional Medical center. “Nathan’s diverse healthcare background focuses on ancillary hospital processes, partnering with the medical staff and hospital colleagues to deliver efficient, top quality care all while building long lasting, working relationships.”

Irwin previously served as Associate Administrator at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia and prior to that as Assistant Administrator in HCA Houston Healthcare’s Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, Texas. In his 7 years with HCA Healthcare, Irwin was also a part of the Gulf Coast Division’s Performance Improvement team in Houston, Texas as well as being a Management Engineer for HCA’s HealthTrust Workforce Solutions business unit.

Irwin earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville and later graduated with a Master in Healthcare Administration from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. He lives in Fredericksburg, Virginia with his wife Ashley where they enjoy biking, hiking, and running.
