Pain Management

At HCA Virginia’s hospitals, our experienced clinicians who focus on pain management are committed to helping you manage your pain and improve your quality of life. Along with your primary care physician, our experts factor in your medical history, work to identify the exact sources of your pain and then create a custom plan to treat your pain. Our goals are to ease your pain and improve your overall health.

At HCA Virginia, we believe that minimally invasive techniques for pain management hold the most promise for eliminating or reducing dependence on oral medications. To address and prevent your pain, we also incorporate a variety of other options into your pain management plan, including rehabilitation and physical therapy, preventive education and appropriate referrals to specialists.

Pain management treatments

HCA Virginia's pain management techniques are designed to be minimally invasive with maximum effectiveness. We provide diagnostic and treatment options such as:

  • Discography
  • Intrathecal pain therapy (ITC)
  • Nerve blocks and epidural injections
  • Radiofrequency
  • Spinal cord stimulators (SCS)
  • Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)
  • Steroid joint or spine injections
