Our specialized behavioral health and psychiatric services provide you with a healthy, safe and calming environment and the best quality care. We offer educational and therapeutic behavioral health programs to improve coping skills, assist with symptom management and prevent relapse.

Our team of experts

We integrate our medical and behavioral health specialties so you can achieve optimal physical and behavioral health all in one place. Our recovery team consists of psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, and behavioral health and therapeutic specialists – all working together to develop an individualized behavioral, emotional and mental health treatment plan centered on your needs.

Behavioral health services

Our program provides a full range of behavioral health inpatient and outpatient services for seniors, adults, adolescents and children. Our services include:

Inpatient behavioral health services are designed to provide intensive inpatient treatment to voluntary and involuntary adult patients aged 18 years and older. Our inpatient services range from medication management to relapse prevention programs. Supportive involvement from your family or support network is strongly encouraged. To provide the highest quality of care in a comfortable setting, patients are grouped with others of similar age and needs.

Our inpatient recovery team includes professionals from multiple disciplines who provide a wide range of services, including detoxification, medical care, therapies, discharge planning and education groups.

Outpatient behavioral health services are provided for patients who are able to maintain their daily routines while working to improve their overall health in a supportive and calming environment.

HCA Virginia’s outpatient behavioral health services include an intensive substance abuse program, disease concept education, a relapse prevention program, coping and abstinence education, alcoholics anonymous, narcotics anonymous, family education and therapy groups.

HCA Virginia’s Tucker Pavilion and Parham's Center for Emotional Growth provide treatment programs uniquely designed for children five to 12 years old and adolescents 13 to 17 years old with emotional and behavioral health issues. Our services include inpatient stabilization and individualized recovery care plans that make safety and crisis stabilization top priorities.

We collaborate with outpatient treatment providers and emphasize patient and family education to help everyone involved better understand behavioral health issues and symptom management. Our psychiatrists and staff members consider family involvement a critical component for a child or adolescent’s successful recovery. Our recovery team includes professionals from a variety of disciplines providing extensive inpatient and outpatient services.

HCA Virginia is dedicated to short-term behavioral health services for adults, which is why we offer an outpatient partial hospitalization program (PHP) to help you achieve behavioral wellness by teaching new strategies for coping with stress, anxiety, depression and other behavioral health symptoms. Our PHP is a flexible treatment option if you need a gradual transition from an inpatient stay or if you need a more structured program without inpatient treatment.

The program offers a space dedicated to your needs, therapy and education groups during the day, and the convenience of being home with loved ones in the evening. It provides flexibility for community providers to directly refer you into the PHP.
