HCA Virginia to Offer Tobacco Cessation Program

Richmond, Va. (Sept. 17, 2013) – HCA Virginia’s Workplace Wellness Program is offering a smoking cessation course to help tobacco users or users of smokeless tobacco products identify triggers in order to quit.

The cost of classes and materials is $50 and registration is required. Classes will take place on the following dates and locations from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Cancer Center, Henrico Doctors’ Hospital
  • Tuesday, Oct. 1, Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital, Johnston-Willis Hospital
  • Wednesday, Jan. 8 at John Randolph Medical Center

According to organizers, 47 percent of participants quit smoking at the end of the clinic, 22 percent reduced smoking and 69 percent quit or reduced.

Participants will have the opportunity to receive one on one attention from instructors. Health screenings will also be conducted before and after the program in order to measure true results.
