In this role, Donaldson will lead the day-to-day operations for Henrico Doctors’ Hospital overseeing the hospital’s key service lines including women’s and children’s, cardiovascular, oncology, neurology among others.

Donaldson most recently served as the associate chief operating officer for the 368-bed Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo. since 2010. The hospital is a Level I Trauma Center that serves as the region’s referral center for neurotrauma and is a recognized leader in the treatment of stroke.
He received his master’s degree in health administration from Regis University in Denver and bachelor’s degree in nuclear medicine and mathematics from York College of Pennsylvania. Donaldson began his healthcare career as a nuclear medicine technologist at Swedish 16 years ago.
Recognized as one of America’s Top 50 hospitals by Healthgrades eight years in a row and one of the 100 Great Hospitals in the U.S. by Becker’s Hospital Review, Henrico Doctors’ Hospital is the third largest employer in the Richmond region. The hospital has received many healthcare honors including the Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award – Clinical Excellence for 12 years in a row and was ranked among the top 15 percent in the nation for Outstanding Patient Experience in 2013.
