Richmond, Va. (Nov. 21, 2013) —Two HCA Virginia hospital chief executive officers have been named to the Becker’s Hospital Review 2013 list “300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know,” which recognizes healthcare leaders from hospitals and health systems across the country.
This is the second consecutive year that McManus has been recognized for this honor. He has more than 18 years of healthcare experience and has also served as CEO of Reston Hospital Center and HCA’s Garden Park Medical Center in Gulfport, Miss. and was chief operating officer of Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala. He also has served in several executive positions with hospitals in California and Maryland.
With a background in hospital administration and 17 years of experience with HCA, Wagnon came to HCA Virginia in September from the 340-bed Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, where he had been CEO since 2008. He also served as COO of Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo. and prior to that was COO at Community Hospital in New Port Richey, Fla. Wagnon is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
“Tim and Will have shown themselves to be outstanding, results-driven leaders and are great assets to HCA Virginia,” said Margaret Lewis, President of HCA’s Capital Division and Senior Executive of HCA Virginia. “Their presence on this prestigious list is well deserved.”
According to Becker’s Hospital Review, leaders featured on the list, which include CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, COO, CIOs and CNOs, have shown dedication to healthcare delivery at local, regional and national levels. Some have held their positions for a few months, while others have been at the helm for more than 20 years — but each has demonstrated great commitment to improving healthcare in America.
The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team included hospital and health system leaders on this list based on a number of factors, including recognition they have received and their organization's recent performance. The editorial team also reviewed leaders' inclusion on previous Becker's Hospital Review lists and recent executive moves to create this list.
